I have an incredibly diverse group of students this year that all have very different individual differentiation needs. As a first year teacher, I strive to meet the needs of all of my students, but have not been able to supply my students with additional resources that can help to challenge my advanced students while still supporting the needs of the rest of my class. The Tower of Math Games, Math Equivalency Puzzles, Problem Solving Cards, and Fluency Puzzles will all be used during center work. My students are grouped together based on their needs. Allowing choice activities during our hands-on center that incorporate addition, subtraction, and problem solving will challenge students that have mastered the concepts, while still providing practice to students that have not mastered the concepts. I will use the allowance game, decks of cards, and dice to create math games based on the topic we are learning about. This creates an active and fun environment for the students, while still providing them with educational learning opportunities. Providing extra resources and materials to my students will allow them to engage in math in a deeper and more meaningful way, while also enabling them to apply our math concepts to real life. It is my goal to provide fun, engaging, and differentiated math instruction to all of my students. These materials will help me to reach every single one of my students using fun, interactive, and applicable activities.
