The benefits of implementing flexible seating in the classroom are endless! Students who have the option of flexible seating have more blood flow to the brain which brings oxygen to the tissues making students feel more awake and ready to focus. One study found that students who were given 10 minutes of movement before taking a series of tests actually performed better. Little learners have busy bodies!!! Flexible seating gives students an acceptable form of movement throughout learning to increase engagement and motivation to learn. In addition to these benefits students are given opportunities to choose which form of seating helps them learn best. I love allowing choice in my classroom and would be so excited to allow students more say in their learning. Please consider donating. My kinders and I would be forever grateful :).
