There are many uses for projectors in a physical education setting. Some examples are, providing activity directions, assessment prompts, daily agenda for the day, skill demonstrations, station instructions, target activities, modifications through the use of visuals and overall helping students understand the content being taught. I believe if I had a projector in the gymnasium I would be able to modify for my students in a way that is life-changing. Visual demonstrations work, but I want to enhance physical education through the use of technology. In June 2017, I completed my masters at SUNY Cortland, where I received a degree in Physical Education Leadership. One of the main courses we had to take was technology in PE. That class exhibited all the different ways to implement technology and how it can improve students' experiences and the lessons being taught. I have no technology available to me in the gym, and the projector and screen would honestly be amazing. The use of projection technology in physical education is a great way to modify, improve and enhance educational opportunities. These materials will provide my students with the power of technology that can enhance overall participation and success. Projectors and screens have helped many other physical education teachers around the country, and I too want to be a part of the movement. As a teacher, we do things for our students greater good. This project isn't for me, it’s for my students. I want to help them get the overall experience they deserve. I teach over 150 students a week and both pieces of technology would be used daily. If you’ve been in my shoes, and truly want to do more, but need the resources, I hope you find this project of value. Movement is a lifelong activity, let’s continue to value it.
