I teach at a Title I school, so a great majority of my students are African American children from low-income families. Despite the diversity of experiences they bring to the classroom, they are unified by the fact that they are all determined to find success. Their basic mathematics skills are lacking, but their willpower more than makes up for the factors that have thus far obstructed their paths to success. Most of my students are juniors, and, therefore, college readiness is on the forefront of their minds.

About my class
