The area my students struggle in the most is reading. The majority of my students do not have access to books at home and our book room is lacking high interest titles. We need class sets and individual books to become life long readers. I believe that with the right books my students will begin to improve their reading comprehension, vocabulary, and fluency. Our curriculum heavily relies on reading novels, and I want my students to be excited about reading! We use daily rotations to spend at least 30 minutes a day reading for pleasure. My students helped pick out the books I have requested, so I know they will be excited to read them.
