Our ELA class is separated into different modules throughout the school year. The first module we are studying focuses on the theme of Resilience in the Great Depression, and our novels focus on that theme. The first novel we will read is Bud, Not Buddy, and I would love for my students to each have their own copy of the novel. Having this set of novels will allow for my students to each have their own, personal copy of the novel while reading. With their own copies, they can take the novel home and read at night, allowing for us to spend more time in class discussing what they have read and working together. By having their own copies of the novel, my students will be able to better engage with the novel as well. They will be able to use sticky notes to take notes as they read and keep their thoughts all in one place.
