Teaching literature and writing truly feels like my calling. I am currently in my fourth year of teaching at a Milwaukee Charter school. I teach 9th and 12th grade literature, and AP Literature. In all of our ELA courses, we focus on building critical literacy skills. After majoring and English and getting certified to teach secondary education, I truly feel like I've found my place. I always tell me students when we start a new story, book, or poem that it's one of my favorites. They give me a hard time, saying "You always say that!" And I do, but it's so true! I hope to keep inspiring teenagers to be critical thinkers and avid readers.
