This year, my biggest focus is helping students find excitement in reading! Third grade is a critical time where multiplication facts, essay building, and state-testing are introduced to them! They are rushed into this world and often forget that reading isn't just to learn, and test. Reading is also meant to be enjoyed! To engage, escape and relax the mind! "It is a great thing to start life with a really small number of good books which are your very own." That is why I specifically picked the Caldecott bundle to gift my students! They enjoy my classroom library and usually all run to the comics or ones with great pictures. To have their own award-winning picture book would be amazing and they would certainly appreciate it. To gift a student a book is gifting them knowledge, an escape from reality, and an item they can open again and again! Please donate a book to my students!
