Teaching third grade is aweseome! Building relationships with my students and their families is my number one priority. The most challenging part of teaching third grade is trying to help students who are still struggling with reading. Third grade is the first year students are expected to read to learn instead of spending time learning how to read. Teaching to a wide range of abilites can be very challenging. I try to make literacy our main academic focus. Strong reading skills are absolutely essential for all students.
