A huge part of what I do is teach literacy. For students who struggle with reading, it is so important to provide information that is both relevant and accessible to my students. Because of this, I print a lot of articles from online and place in binders with section numbers for students to complete several assignments each week. The binders also serve as a great resource for students to stay caught up outside of school or if students are absent. Finally our “textbook” binders serve as a great strategy for review and reteaching. As a science teacher, I am all about saving the environment, so being able to print a class set and place in binders for the rest of my students helps me to save paper. I plan to use this resource for years to come, editing to include relevant information as needed. Currently, the binders I bought at the beginning of the year are in disrepair. I would love to be able to give my students binders that would not fall apart and stand up to the frequent use of over a hundred middle schoolers every day.
