My middle school girls' advisory is in need of chapter books about diverse female characters that will be used as book club selections in our class. The students in my class will be using these books to have writing and discussion activities around the idea of perseverance, self-esteem and strength of character. This project will provide the students in my class to read beautiful literature where the characters reflect their background and the diversity that makes our country wonderful! They will be allowed to experience stories that are connected to their own experience and empower them to do great things!
