My students deserve every opportunity to engage with books that will encourage their love of reading, writing, and their love of thinking! As Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing learners, their access to quality visual literature is a must! A recent professional development introduced us to Jennifer and her fresh thoughts on childhood literacy. How can any teacher say no to the chance to grow as an educator?? These books could be transformed into worlds during read alouds, shared reading, and even independent reading. While their literacy comprehension skills are behind, their passion is not! These books are developmentally appropriate for their reading level, and Jennifer Serravallo can help me guide them even more towards success!
