The use of art in my classroom enhances everything the students learning in kindergarten. Standing up to paint at an easel develops children's arm and hand muscles leading to better handwriting. Using different colors allows students to explore mixing colors as well as how colors complement each other and set a tone. Art allows all my students to express emotions and feelings that they are not able to verbalize yet. Many of my students come to school with traumatized backgrounds. Being able to express themselves in a positive way allows them to process their feelings. All students can succeed at art.
