My 3rd and 4th grade students are all recent immigrants to the country who come to my class with limited to no English. Most of my students are from Central American countries, though I have students from as far as Vietnam and Dubai. While their families have been through many hardships to get them to this country, they do not show it. These students are the most resilient, bravest, and happiest children I have ever worked with. They come to school every day and are genuinely excited to be learning English. The progress that they make every day amazes me and it is a privilege to teach them.
