Anatomy and Physiology is traditionally a very, very vocabulary-heavy course, which is something that my exceptional education students always struggle with. Allowing them to physically interact with the subjects we are learning about really makes a huge difference in their ability to learn and retain science content. These materials have been chosen to highlight the major systems of the body and give students multiple different ways to interact with them (as diagrams, models, and dissection specimens). By providing my students with disabilities with multiple opportunities for hands-on engagement, I hope to make science less intimidating and more accessible to them. They need to understand their own bodies in order to make informed health decisions for the rest of their lives. Please help me make science feel truly real for them!
