This year, the Texas Education Agency has changed part of the TELPAS (language test) to include more online testing for students who are learning English. To be more specific, this year not only will students take their reading test online, but their listening and speaking parts as well. This test assesses their proficiency in English in these domains as well as a writing piece. Due to this requirement, schools are to purchase high quality headphones with a microphone to meet the testing requirement.
Here at My school, ,we have a very diverse population with students from all over the world. All of which will participate in this test. We also are very proud to have many refugee students attend our school. We work very closely with World Relief and Catholic Charities to provide them with all the necessities to make their transition to the United States a very positive experience.
As you are probably aware, headphones can be quite expensive. We have a very limited budget for all technology and try to be very good stewards with our money. We want to be able to provide the technology to our students to make them productive citizens in this 21st century. We are asking your help to provide some or all of our headphones for testing. We are hoping to have 50 Califone USB 3066 Deluxe Stereo headphones. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to partnering with you.
