My students are mostly immigrants from the Caribbean, South and Central America, and various part of Asia and Africa. I went back to teach in an urban high school after a career in entertainment. I wanted to help kids like me, help them achieve and give them the support to go onto to high education. I wanted to be the good teacher that I had when I was an urban teenager. I try to introduce as many cultural experiences to them and our budget will allow. We visit the Met and MOMA three times a year by public transit. Their passion and drive for learning and their excitement in creating personal artwork inspires me to work as hard as I can for them.
