Our Online English Language Arts class will be the home of more than 50+ students, ranging from the ages of 18-60+, to meet the requirements for their high school diploma. There are many struggles that come with participating in an online class setting but for many of our adult students, it is easier because they can be at home and make use of their time more effectively. One of the many encounters I have noticed, however, that becomes a drawback is the lack of good earphones. Many students join class with just their devices such as a computer, that will normally be provided by the school, however the only way to use the microphone or the audio would be from the device itself. So what's the issue with this? Imagine you are in a room with your spouse making dinner, children are playing in the background, a dog barking, and you are desperately trying to listen to your class with only your device's audio on. Now imagine, trying to respond to your instructor with the same noise in the background. Something as simple as an earphone with a built-in microphone can change the ease of a class session and the stress of a student significantly. And this was just an example of a single student. Imagine if there are 50 students with unique background distractions such as the example given? I urge you to please help me give my students the ability to focus better, to contribute better, and to feed their hunger for knowledge and pathways to success better in the simple way of donating to my project for earphones with built-in microphones.
