Our world is a scary place right now. The COVID-19 pandemic has created an extra challenge for both teachers and students. This year, my goal is to provide my children with an education that is just as fulfilling and high quality as any other year. In order to do this, my first task is to create an environment that is safe for both my students and myself. The air purifier, filters, clear barrier, masks, and shields will provide an extra measure of safety for students and myself. The CDC recommends that we stay 6 feet away from others and spend no longer than 15 minutes with others. The length of our school day makes it impossible to spend no longer than 15 minutes with others. Additionally, the size of my classroom will make it difficult to always stay 6 feet away from others. That said, these safety items will make my environment slightly safer. Considering the state of our country and the COVID-19 pandemic, the idea of returning to school has become a matter of life and death. Any precautions and extra safety measures could potentially save a life. *Note: If schooling is remote, the air purifier (and filters) will still be useful when school resumes, especially during flu season. All other items will also be repurposed within the classroom for safety needs.
