All of my art students will learn about the 4 Master Renaissance artists. Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael. Students will do research and read many different articles and excerpts from books on the artists. Some of the books include "Michelangelo's Ceiling", and "How to Think Like Leonardo." Students will get a chance to paint upside down like Michelangelo, write backward and invent like da Vinci, sculpt like Donatello and paint still lifes like Raphael. Students need to learn about the master artists, how they created art and how their cartoon character heroes were real people and not turtles.
