Young children, especially those with unique needs, learn best from interacting with stories and visuals that connect them to the learning! Books with bright colors, expressive language, and subjects focusing on small moments help students engage with social and emotional learning in the classroom. Each book selected has been chosen with care to meet the needs of individual students, focusing on the social and emotional skills they require to be successful in school and beyond. My students will spend time with these books within individual and small group instruction to further their understanding of kindness, acceptance, emotional regulation, and being a good friend.
