Adding a viola to my school's inventory will help me grow the inventory so students will be able to check instruments out to take home and practice. Learning an instrument is just like learning a new language; if you can't practice at home, you can't get better. Taking instruments home gives student the opportunity to practice and improve, and be able to share their musical accomplishments with their families and friends. My students are proud of what they can perform on their instruments, and they should be able to take their instruments home so they can share their music. Music is what keeps many of my students going and gives some of them a reason to enjoy school. They should be able to enjoy creating music at home as well.
