Designing and creating in Technology Education often involves the use of demonstration and showing small details. A document camera will allow me to teach from home and share examples of work in a live lesson versus showing static images. The ability to show small details to the students greatly impacts their understanding. Previously I moved between six different tables to give all the students an up-close demonstration. Once we are back in the classroom, and social-distancing requirements are observed, that process will no longer be possible. A document camera will allow me - and the students - to demonstrate procedures to the class via the projector. The ability to record steps and capture images will also allow me to create videos for students so they can re-watch procedures when they need repetition and proceed at their own pace.
