If you enter my Technology and Engineering Education + Computer Science classroom you will find the students designing, creating, and problem solving. They often work collaboratively, communicating with teammates to solve real-world problems. One of my favorite aspects of teaching engineering is the fact that there is usually no 'one right answer' to problems that are posed to the students. They must utilize learning from multiple other courses - math, science, art, language arts - to develop, design, build, and communicate their solutions Introducing students to woodworking and the various tools used in that craft is always a highlight during their 8th grade year.
