My students should be excited for P.E. Many of my students have never played a team sport. They should be looking forward to learning a new game but with the appropriate equipment. Not the makeshift bases, or old, flat balls. They need exposure to team games with the bats, balls and bases necessary to play the game. Fitness is an important part of our lives. P.E should be fun and a time for them to decide which sports they enjoy because they actually know how to play them! 5th grade is also the state fitness assessment so these kids need exciting ways to increase their fitness!
