My wonderful group of 5th graders is part of the Mandarin Dual Language Program at ICIA, located in the heart of Irvine, CA. My students receive half-day instruction in English and the other half-day in Mandarin, where both language components are aligned with CCSS and NGSS. Our students come from diverse family backgrounds. I believe my students are the future leaders of their generation because they are immersed in this language-rich learning experience that will ultimately prepare them to succeed in school and beyond. Seeing their hard work and dedication to realize and to achieve their dreams and passions motivates me, both as an educator and as an individual, to grow and to learn alongside my students. To help my students reach their learning potential, I want to provide the necessary resources and materials that they need to have access to a brighter, better future.
