These materials are incentives for reading. My goal is to see progression in reading fluency in my 3rd grade students. Students are encouraged to use these items to time and monitor daily reading through novels studies, SSR and daily reading programs. Students are encouraged to read daily to increase I station and state mandated short cycle scores. They will also have weekly reading goals, monitor and graph their own progress. Timers and book markers are used to time reading and pencils will be used as incentives when students have reached goals and to fill out weekly and monthly data sheets to monitor their own progression.
