Having a classroom rug will give my students a common meeting place. One area my students struggle with the most is speaking and listening . Each day, my students gather for a morning meeting to greet each other and review the daily routine. Due to the disabilities of my students, they have difficulty working on their own. They are easily distracted and it's difficult for them to stay focused, so it is important that my students are actively engaged in their learning, rather than just sitting at a desk. This area will not only serve as a place where instruction is held, my students will also have the chance to play. Socialization is another area my students struggle with. They will use this area for their play time to learn how to play and interact appropriately with their peers. This rug will benefit them in many of their academic and personal goals.
