These resources will equip our chemistry lab with the scientific glassware we need in order to complete a full titration during our acid-base chemistry unit this spring. We will learn about pH, integrate math skills by learning to calculate pH and using algebra to solve for concentrations of acid and base ions in solutions, and watch a neutralization occur via an acid-base titration. Learning to use burettes in high school will set up our scholars for success in their first chemistry labs in college. Burettes are difficult glassware to learn, but they are powerful in their precision. Additionally, physically completing a titration and plotting a titration curve helps scholars to better understand neutralization reactions and how pH changes as a neutralization reaction progresses.
