Ask yourself this: where do you do your best work? Is it at a desk? Standing up? Is it lounging in a chair or sprawled out on the floor? Do you get to choose from a variety of options each day? My students need this choice! My students need a welcoming, motivating and comfortable classroom community that accommodates all of their various individual needs. The traditional classroom model in which each child works at his or her own desk does not “fit all" and it certainly doesn't fit my students! My classroom is filled with energetic kindergarteners who find joy in learning in different ways. Many of my life-long learners do not have choice of comfortable seating in their homes. They would LOVE this opportunity in school!
