Bringing an iPad to my classroom would be beneficial for my students in numerous ways. My students already love using whiteboards to work out their math problems, but when it comes time for me to help them, I try to use paper and pencil in order to limit the share supplies. This practice, while safe, is wasteful. With my current technology setup, I am tied to my desk and cannot effectively meet student needs around the classroom. When in distance learning, it is extremely difficult to try to explain solving math problems through email in a way that is beneficial to my students. I believe I have found a wonderful solution for each of these issues: an iPad. By donating to our project, you would be granting our classroom a safe, flexible, and efficient solution to help my students along their academic journey. Having an iPad in the classroom would grant me the ability to roam freely and safely to help my students with math. With access to an iPad, not only would I avoid decimating my classroom paper supply, but I would also be able to help students more efficiently when working remotely. I would be able to simply utilize the Apple Pencil to write out and solve equations electronically and send to my students wherever they might be through features such as screen recording, note-taking, and screen sharing that are all available on the iPad. This would do away with any restrictions I've had previously when it comes to effectively helping my students to continue learning and growing in their math knowledge from home. The power of technology is great and I would like to use it to the best of my ability in my role as an educator!
