Vincent High School's journey is not your average agricultural experience. Our youth come from mostly urban backgrounds in the city of Milwaukee, therefore we have the unique opportunity to teach them about agriculture and inspire them to explore its many careers. The impact of this type of hands-on learning is seen every day in my pathway, Environmental Service and Systems. My students learn about soil, freshwater ecosystems, forest ecosystems, biotechnology, sustainable agriculture, and the impacts on climate. Even if not every Vincent graduate pursues a career in farming, they are going to be consumers, and my fellow teachers and I hope to help make them educated consumers.
