My students are 4th graders who attend a Chicago Public School. Over 90% of my students are low-income. All of them are Latino/Hispanic. More than half of my 4th graders speak a second language at home, which is Spanish. They enjoy reading and using manipulatives to learn especially during math and science. They get excited when new books are added to the class library. These 4th graders are not shy when it comes to role-playing and acting during demonstration and plays. They are a curious bunch and are always eager to try new things.
