My students are excited to play basketball in P.E. class but we currently lack proper equipment to run basketball drills and play. The basketballs we have are so well-worn that students try to fight over the one good ball we have. The pinnies that we are trying to use are as old as the building and no one wants to touch them, let alone wear them with pride. The old rims are worn out and we need a ball rack to better store the equipment. This new equipment will get kids excited about physical education, playing basketball, building skills, and increasing physical activity. Gym classes are more than just a chance for children to play, they also help combat childhood obesity, help kids try out new activities, and develop a sense of teamwork.
