Through inquiry based learning students are given a role in their education. Within my classroom we engage in metacognitive meetings, debates, and many class discussions on any and all topics. Every teacher's goal is to create an environment where all students feel comfortable sharing their ideas. While many students enjoy the opportunity to share their thinking, others could not imagine anything worse. The Qball gives soft spoken and nervous students a tool to confidently share their voice. Through fun and interactive tossing of the Qball students get to speak into the hidden microphone and hear their voice projected through the classroom speakers. Soft spoke students have thoughts that are just as important as the outgoing students. Using the Qball would raise our class discussions to a new level and show each student that their thoughts are valued.
