Our current art supply at elementary school is outdated and low in supply. We have dry markers, broken crayons, six glue sticks and only a few reams of paper. We started a project with oil pastels as they started to wear down I realize that was it they had no more. No more oil pastels, no more crayons, no more markers, no more white paper means limited creativity for students as well as myself. Students’ creativity and artistic growth is stunted when the Art supplies reach such low supply. I am requesting general art supplies for my classroom so my students are able to create projects that allow them to express themselves creatively and with the proper supplies. Quality art materials are beneficial to children in many ways. It sends them several positive messages. It tells the young artist that their artwork is worth it, that they are good enough for the best. Being from low-income families being English language learners is all the MORE reason they need to be able to properly express themselves through Art. Please help me bring the Sadler art room to where it needs to be where it should be.
