Hello, My name is Ms. Rivers, and I teach a self-contained Adaptive Classroom for students in grades k-5 with special needs. Many of my students are nonverbal, so we use individualized transition cards with labeled pictures that they can point to in order to communicate their needs. We strive to provide every student with meaningful opportunities to communicate and learn. Because students have individual needs and learning levels, many of our materials are created by teachers and customized to help each student understand the skills being taught.
