Our classroom consists of 24 multilingual 3rd graders. Unfortunately, this group of kiddos completed their Kinder year online due to the pandemic. Therefore, it has been a bit difficult for some students to reach grade-level standards. My students come from various backgrounds, but predominantly from low-income backgrounds. Students at Adelante 2 Dual Language Academy spend most of their school day learning core content in Spanish. Thus, there a big need for books and materials to support their Spanish development. My 3rd graders use a lot of math manipulatives to work on multiplication and division problems.
