This project will supply my students with a listening center to use during small group time and as a reward. The center will include a stand, 4 headphones, a cd player and 10 sets of books for the kids to enjoy. These students will love to be able to listen to different stories in the listening center. They will listen to the stories and hear all the words. They can also work on their comprehension and retell skills. Once they listen to the story they will be able to turn to a partner and tell them what they remember from the story. Listening centers are a great way for a new form of learning to occur. This engages the students in their own learning. Plus stories are fun for the kids to listen to. Listening skills will help them throughout their lives to be successful!
