Archery is a wonderful sport that doesn't get a lot of attention. But archery encompasses so many skills needed for life. It will teach my students to focus on one thing at a time and that the small things in life matter. In addition, archery is a sport you don't have to be the fastest or be able to jump the highest to win. It is an opportunity for those who may not succeed at the usual P.E activities to shine. Also, teaching my students to care for the equipment will give them something to be proud of as they leave the school. My school is made up of low socioeconomic families, so they most likely will never walk down their street and see an archery range in their neighborhood. I would love to bring the range to them and will be able to do that by bringing an archery team to our school! They will have knowledge in a sport not many other schools or kids have. It will become a conversation piece among their peers and family. In order for my students to learn about archery and practice to compete for upcoming tournaments, they will need a couple targets and arrows. I'd like to thank you in advance for supporting my project and our school team!
