Seating and positioning plays a huge role in how engaged a child is in the classroom, especially children with sensory issues or special needs. The students will be able to choose seating that is adaptive to their needs while creating art and feeling safe doing it. Some of my students like to create art while sitting on the floor and others need a more mobile seat where they can focus on creating art. The adaptive materials will make a difference by giving them choices on how they want to create their art with an individual hands-on approach. Using specific art supplies like spring scissors and special paint in a container that the students can hold allow them to be able to create art in their own way. Hands-on building materials to create sculptures allow the students to be engaged while designing and learning the whole time.
