I have a class of 20 English Language Learners. My students are diverse learners, some who have recently immigrated to the US. I'm always impressed by their creativity, curiosity for learning, and artistic talent. Our school is a Title 1 school in which most students qualify for reduced lunch. They face challenges inside and outside of the classroom. One of them is not being able to buy school supplies. I want to make school a fun experience where they feel safe and engaged. For that I need them to have all the materials they need to foster their learning in language arts. They love sharing their thoughts and ideas, but they have a hard time when it comes to writing. Having the right materials will help them become able writers who share their ideas in fun and creative ways.
