As a first year teacher, I immediately realized how important having technology in the classroom is. My students range in academic levels from 2nd - 6th grade. In order to reach their goals, I have to differentiate and modify lessons to reach each students' individual needs. Without having easy access to technology in the classroom, this task can be extremely challenging. Although my students are extremely determined to learn no matter what, their progress and growth is limited due to the lack of technology within the classroom. Teaching from solely from the textbook is not as engaging and many of my students may not be able to understand the text due to their wide range of reading levels. Having Chromebooks in the classroom will expand their education and ability to access curriculum-based learning in more technologically advanced and impactful ways. These Chromebooks will be used during small group instruction, interactive online programming and allow my students to complete research projects. Majority of my students don't have access to computers at home, and they would be extremely grateful to have readily available access to technology within the classroom. Any donation, no matter how big or small, will greatly impact my students' education for the better!
