The greatest lesson I have learned from my students is that of resilience. Despite their learning disabilities and the emotional traumas they have faced, my students do not fail to show me their desire to grow. This year, I will be teaching at a new middle school and I am super excited to meet my students. I will be starting a brand new Autism program in Oakland. My students will come from many backgrounds and will have diverse needs. My goal this school year is to ensure my students build positive relationships with their classmates and the adults in their lives. To build these relationships I will need to develop a safe and predictable classroom that fosters empathy and pushes my students to take risks!
