My students have various communication and developmental delays, which require various means of instruction. The communication needs and developmental delays of my students require a different approach to teaching that allows them to build their self-confidence, learn social skills, and learn academic skills all at the same time. Examples of our classroom structure include: whole group learning, small group, centers, and independent learning with accommodations and modifications to the curriculum. By having the tablets, students are able to work independently on designated programs or assigned tasks given by me, such as working out addition problems on a google slide document or practicing reading skills using an e-book. My students would also be able to utilize the tablets during our small group centers as a means of response to questions. The tablets would also be utilized as a means to take data on the multiple IEP goals of my students.
My students are unique learners who strive to do their best! They always push themselves in their learning experience despite any deficit they may possess. With these devices in our classroom, I know my students' learning experience would accelerate greatly!
