My students, who come from low socioeconomic status, are cheerful, optimistic, and eager to learn. However, they face many challenges in their eager quest for knowledge as we often do not have the supplies needed to aid in learning. Our campus is a Title 1 school with a nearly equal mix of African American and Hispanic students. All of our students currently receive free breakfast and lunch. Many students arrive on campus each day lacking the simple necessities for daily success in school, such as pencils, paper, glue, Crayons, and scissors. Our students are normal kids on the surface but often face tremendous challenges during non-school hours. We, the teachers, often have to face the realities of our students' low-socioeconomic status while giving them the education they need and seek. Sequentially, they inspire us with their resilience, courage, and enthusiasm for learning.

About my class
