The materials requested will be an amazing help to me and my students as we finish out the remainder of the school year and I begin my career as a teacher. My students were abandoned by their first science teacher early on in the year and had multiple substitutes that were not prepared to effectively teach them. I was fortunate enough to begin my teaching career halfway through the school year. With the fortune of starting my job halfway through the year comes the misfortune of not having a budget for basic classroom supplies. My students deserve an amazing education, but it can definitely be difficult to provide that with limited resources available to me. Items like pencils and pencil sharpeners are essentials but are not provided to us. Other items, such as copy paper, is provided but in limited quantities. It would mean the world to me as a new teacher if we can supply these kids with some classroom essentials to make our days run smoother.
