I have been reading about flexible seating and how it helps increase student engagement compared to traditional classroom setups. I am gen ed teacher but I am also ESE certified which means that I also have students with Sensory issues, Autism, Down Syndrome, etc. These students require specific accommodations to help them adapt in a regular classroom and it supports their learning. Having flexible seating will allow all of my kindergartners, including those with special needs to feel empowered by having some degree of choice and control over their environment. It will allow them to change their location and positions. A flexible classroom will also give students opportunity to work separately or in groups. Help me create a safe and fun classroom environment for my students. Kindergarten is such an important, which is why I need to make sure it's their best year!
