These materials will allow me to create a stimulating sensory oasis where all students with different sensory needs are able to come and practice self regulation. Our multi-sensory oasis will not only be used to help students calm down when they are overwhelmed but also as a preventative measure to help ensure positive behavior throughout the day. Providing students a structured time to spend in this sensory room will allow them to develop an awareness of their sensory needs. This awareness will in turn help students establish a form of self regulation which they will be able to carry with them throughout their life. My top priority is to provide a safe place for all students to explore and grow no matter their disability. I hope to create an inclusive environment which allows students to meet their sensory needs leading to full awareness when focusing on learning in out of the classroom.
