Compassionate Connections are so valuable when teaching our youth. Now, more than ever, in a digital age and in a virtual classroom environment, our teenagers NEED physical learning materials. Scholastic is a life-long household name because they continue to create appropriate, engaging content that appeals to kids these days. In order to provide a more equitable education for our students, we must confront our own cultural biases and have conversations that lead us to one another to learn how alike we are, not to create more division. These resources will bring opportunities for us to make those connections in a literacy based way. The magazines and the annotation kits will anchor conversations about critical character traits such as accountability, bravery and care. These themes resonate in the pages of these materials and at Eastside, we want them to resonate in YOU, as we strive to guide you in Your Embodied Life!
