Because we live in a technology driven society, it only makes sense to bring that technology in to the classroom. Last year I was able to raise money through the Education Fund to purchase an Osmo for my class. Osmo is an award-winning game system that allows children to interact with the iPad in a hands-on way. Students can make words, attain new vocabulary, play in groups, all with the iPad but using manipulative items. Most children use technology at home everyday, so their learning in school should take place using technology that will allow them to be ready for the future. Computers allow for this, but Osmo allows for this in a way that is more appropriate and FUN for young children. They will be immersed in learning and to them it will all be play. Beanbags will allow students a comfy place to sit while they play. I no longer have the iPad that I used last year so it is crucial for me to have one in order for my students to use Osmo. Your generous donations will allow my students to have a more productive, technology driven and fun school year.
